This Scene Study Workshop will explore the basics of performance using the template at the heart of scene preparation: objective, actions, stakes and so on with an eye toward making strong, personal choices. Short scenes will be provided allowing students to make practical specific choices in a generic scene. Students are encouraged to bring a longer scene they wish to work on. Working with a partner to solidify choices and take direction, students will have the opportunity to make acting adjustments to deepen the scenes and the actor's awareness. Led by Peter Berkrot, who began his career as a student at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in 1973. For more than 40 years, he has appeared in plays, films, television shows and commercials. He was a foil for Bill Murray and Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack and taught acting for more than 20 years at Boston Casting, Northeastern College and Bradford College. He is currently a full time audiobook narrator with 450 titles and a slew of awards.
