ROCK CLIMBING GRIZZLY DOME,trad and top rope HOT SPRINGS
On this weekend, we will be camping at Feather River Hot Springs
(Woody's Hot Spring) and rock climbing at Grizzly Dome. If you're interested in attending, sign up on the wait list then send payment of $30.00 per person to me Norm T. Please send payment using Pay Pal Friends. The cost for camping and hot spring usage for Friday and Saturday evenings is $30.00
Directions to Grizzly Dome. From Sacramento (2 1/2 easy hours), head North to Highway 70/99 turnoff. Head North on hwy 70 through Oroville. Continue past Oroville approx 30 miles on hwy 70 into the Feather River Canyon. Pass through Arch Rock Tunnel and go approx. 1 1/4 miles till you see the OBVIOUS next tunnel and dome (Grizzly Dome). Park just before the tunnel. The climbs are in the Grizzly Creek area just below the highway.
We will be climbing Grizzly Dome in the Feather River Canyon area on HWY 70, just east of Chico. Grizzly Dome is the most popular in the area, with 25 plus estabilshed routes, mostly bolted sport with some trad and mixed trad/bolted. Grades range from 5.6 to 5.12a. There are a few multi-pitch trad and bolted routes. The climbing is primarily slab/face. The approach is VERY difficult, you may have to walk 60 feet or you can beley from the back of your truck.
We will be tent camping on Friday and Saturday evenings at the Feather River Hot Springs, so bring your bathing suits. There is a $30.00 cost per person for the group camping and HOT SPRINGS USAGE. Payment will be made to me through Paypal friends.
