Retirement Pleasures & Pitfalls: A Discussion & Social Event for Seniors 35

Scott Magnesen, Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, will give a presentation on the current economic environment and a forecast for the next 18-24 months. Scott will discuss the current interest rate environment, the effects of the slowing global economy on US equity markets and the way to position your investment portfolio to take advantage of what is likely to unfold. Scott has been managing money for over 37 years and is recognized as one of the Top 100 Financial Advisors in the country by Forbes, Barrons and the Financial Times. He is a frequent guest on WBBM Radio.

Followed by a sharing and general discussion meeting.

Planning or adjusting to retirement after an active working life is challenging for most.
This group was formed to discuss issues and to share information and knowledge about retirement. We will lend each other support to overcome some of the challenges we face as we seek out new opportunities. These may include finding new purpose and meaning, setting new goals or tackling topics such as exercise, health, bucket lists, etc. We do promise to avoid discussing finances, politics and religion.
We’ll also have some fun and plan social events together such as seeing movies, summer concerts, walking together, volunteering, etc. Guest speakers are schedulked regularly.  Visiting local attractions may be considered. Diversity will be added depending on the interests of group members.
So please join us if you’re interested in enjoying your new freedom, exploring your future and making new friends with like-minded people or if you just need a reason to get out of the house.
We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 9:30 AM to approximately 11:30 AM at Buffalo Grove’s Alcott Center, 530 Bernard Dr, Room 9, Buffalo Grove, IL 60089. There are no fees to attend meetings. You do not have to be a resident of Buffalo Grove, nor a member of the Buffalo Grove Park District nor Club 50.
