ABOUT THE CLINICIAN/PERFORMER Over the past three decades, Daniel Shapiro has given masterclasses in many of the world’s leading conservatories, building a strong reputation as a dedicated and thoughtful pedagogue who helps students find the paths to penetrating interpretations of the works they study. Previous students have won prestigious competitions and hold important teaching positions at numerous institutions. As a winner of the William Kapell International Piano Competition himself, Dr. Shapiro has twice performed Beethoven’s entire 32-sonata cycle, and his landmark 3-DVD recording of Schubert’s sonatas with RPS Classics has been hailed as a tour-de-force.
