RESCHEDULED: Mt. Sherman

Possibility to reschedule on day earlier, leaving Thursday evening and summering Friday morning. Let me know your preference.

Rating: Strenuous Mountaineering. Nothing above Class 2, but there may be snow and/or ice on the route.

As this involves a 5.5 hour drive to the trailhead, and it is best to get up the mountain while whatever snow is still on the route is frozen, we will go up the afternoon before, camp at trailhead, and get an early start so we will be on the trail at or just before sunrise.

4-5 mile round trip hike, 2100’ elevation gain.

If Yale: 9.5 mile round trip hike, 4300’ elevation gain.

Bring: layers with wind shell, fleece or wool, gloves and warm hat, gaiters if you have them, micro spikes or packable snow shoes if you choose, poles if you use them, high energy food, 2 liters of water, and some experience with cold weather high elevation hiking.

Mary and I will be continuing on to the north after this, so we will need at least one other driver (if anyone signs up)
