Writing and yoga, though not fundamentally linked, are the perfect elixir for creative expression. Join DC based yoga teacher and writer, Izzy Martens, for a special workshop designed to create space in both the body and the mind, in order to spark creativity on the page. Open to yogis and writers of all levels. Bring a yoga mat and water bottle, along with a notebook and pen. But most importantly, bring an open heart and an open mind.

Workshop theme: Simmer.

About the instructor: Izzy Martens has been using yoga and writing as tools for creative expression for over a decade. As a yoga teacher, with an education based in creative non-fiction, Izzy Martens is excited to bring you this special limited workshop series that links yoga and writing so beautifully. Izzy is the creator of the online journal, Joke Life, a website publishing stories of creative nonfiction. As an RYT 200, Izzy teaches weekly yoga classes at the Yoga District studios, she also has a forthcoming website, Yoga Humans, set to launch in 2020. Izzy believes in the power of both words and yoga to create connection and spark positive change in the world. Izzy writes and lives in Washington, D.C., where you can find her hanging out at coffee shops, doing yoga, and finding green spaces to explore. Find her stories at www.jokelife.com.
