To receive Red Cross certificate each participant must:
WHAT TO BRING:
Face covering, goggles, towel, warm clothes to change into, a bag lunch, snacks, and bottled water. We will be kneeling on the ground for CPR practice so extra padding for your knees like a thick towel is advised. We will have a 30-minute lunch break. NOTE: We will be starting in the water so please arrive in your swimsuit ready to go.
OPTIONAL BLENDED LEARNING:
Blended learning combines online learning with in-person skills sessions where you will practice skills and demonstrate competency. The online learning modules are optional but highly recommended for recertification participants. The online learning class is a great tool to help you brush up on your knowledge and come prepared to class. Additionally, participants that complete the optional online learning only need to take one in-person exam at the end of the day (the second exam is embedded in the class). Most participants complete the eLearning portion of the course in approximately 6-7 hours. It's recommended that you begin the online session as soon as possible to ensure that you are able to complete all eLearning modules prior to the first in-person skill session.

CLASS COST:
Recertification - $150
A minimum of three participants is required to run each class. Prior swimming skills are required. Refunds will not be issued to participants who do not pass the swim test or final written exams.
CLASS SAFETY:
Since lifeguard water rescue skills involve close physical proximity and/or physical contact, there may be an elevated risk of disease transmission, including COVID-19. By attending the class you acknowledge that you are aware of the risks involved and give consent to participate in the class. You will be required to sign a liability release waiver prior to the start of class (this will be emailed to you ahead of time). You also agree to have a face covering on at all times except during water skills.
To keep everyone safe, every participant will have their temperature checked prior to the start of class each day. You will be asked to wash your hands frequently and maintain physical distancing of at least 6 ft, (as much as reasonably possible). You will be asked the following safety questions in order to be admitted to the class:
If you answer "yes" to any of these questions, or if you are unwilling to abide by the safety measures, you will not be admitted to take the class.
