Raised, A Cocktail Bar Hosts 2nd Annual Tin on Tin Cocktail Classic Mixology Competition

Raised, A Cocktail Bar, Chicago’s popular year-round rooftop known for having one of the best cocktail programs in the city, has been officially announced as the host for the second annual Tin on Tin Cocktail Classic Mixology Competition. Six Chicago bartenders will go head to head before three esteemed industry judges, including Mony Bunni, last year’s Speed Rack Champion and Natalia Cardenas, Head Mixologist at Breathru’s Alchemy Room. Matty Ryan a local comedian will emcee the event. The grand prize is a trip to the 2018 Bar Convent Brooklyn. Open to the public, the event will take place Monday, April 16 from 4:30 pm until 8:30 pm, at One West Wacker Drive in Chicago.
The Tin on Tin Cocktail Classic was created to challenge bartenders from across the city of Chicago to elevate their careers and flex their mixology muscles. This year’s competition will focus on healthy cocktails with an emphasis on sustainable, local, and natural ingredients. The competitors will be judged on their ability to interpret these parameters through their presentation, concept, creativity and ability to engage while working. Products used will be from a selected list of Diageo products as a main spirit and Breakthrough spirits as a secondary.
Attendees will be treated to an array of spirit and cocktail samples along with wine and cheese pairings, beer tastings, and entertaining demonstrations including a boozy sorbet bar and ice luge, and can partake in the judging process for the “Popular Vote” category.
