Stephani Sachs, professional puppet builder, teaches children how to build and playfully operate puppets. Students build a real “Muppet-style” puppet of their own. This is a great class for the expressive child and certainly a great class for the more quiet child. It gives all children a voice and helps them steer their creative energy into the products of a puppet and mini-show. Children design their puppets, hand-sew their puppets, then write stories together and improvise a show together. And, of course, each child takes home their own puppet creation at the end of the session. In addition, the children get a dose of the history of puppet making.
