Event ended

All in-person library programs are cancelled until further notice. While we’ll miss all our patrons at storytimes, speaker events, and other programs, we want to keep you safe. We will resume programming as soon as we can.

In the meantime, we invite you to connect with us on our Facebook page @adamstownarealibrary for virtual storytimes and other online activities.

Miss Jess posts a video every weekday morning at 10 am with a simple, fun activity you can do at home!

Preschool Storytime

Every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10 am. Stories and an easy craft for ages 2-6 with adult caregiver. Wee Build play sets will be available for free play during and after storytime. Please register.

Every week is special! But these dates have an extra special guest or activity:

These events have been cancelled, but April is still time for PA's One Book Every Young Child program. Read these books with your child in April!

One Book Every Young Child Storytime (Bugs! Bugs! Bugs!) - April 14 & 15 - Bugs are always a big hit with kids. This book pairs bugs with vibrant collage illustrations, spare yet whimsical text, and a “Bug-O-Meter.” Kids will want to read it over and over again. Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! is available on both TumbleBooks and BookFlix at http://online.lancasterlibraries.org/  Check out the activities for this book at https://www.paonebook.org/images/pdf/Bugs-fun-guide.pdf.

One Book Every Young Child Storytime (Freight Train) - April 21 & 22 - A colorful freight train picks up speed as it travels through tunnels, past cities, and across trestles. Enjoy the Caldecott Honor book Freight Train by Donald Crews along with great early literacy activities! There's a YouTube video reading here and activities from PA One Book: https://www.paonebook.org/images/pdf/Train-fun-guide.pdf

Pennsylvania One Book, Every Young Child is an established program that highlights the importance of early literacy development in preschoolers and the significance of reading early and often to children. Learn more at https://www.paonebook.org/
