Prenatal Yoga (Evolutions)
A practice to embrace this wonderful time in a woman’s life! Yoga is a gift for the mother-to-be, the baby and the family to help prepare for labor and promote the baby’s health. Like other types of childbirth-preparation classes, prenatal yoga is a multifaceted approach to exercise that encourages mental centering, focused breathing and postures to enhance comfort during pregnancy and birth. Research suggests that prenatal yoga can provide benefits for expectant mothers and their babies including:
- Improved sleep
- Reduced stress and anxiety
- Increased strength, flexibility and muscle endurance needed for childbirth
- Decreased low back pain, nausea, carpal tunnel symptoms, headaches and shortness of breath
Class meets once a week on Thursdays from 6:45pm-8:00pm. $10 per class when registering for the entire workshop (5 week session, $50). Drop in Fee $20. Check with teacher for class cancellations on specific major holidays.
