In this talk, we will explain the differences of each of these storage platforms, where they fit and why tape still holds an important role for long-term storage. We will also highlight one of the breakthrough technologies launched this NAB 2018 - Hypertape (IABM AWARDS 2018 Finalist, Honorable Mention 2018 Post Picks and more). The incredible interest is being generated because Hypertape is the first time we can perform operations like Transcoding 4K directly from Tape in an application like Adobe Premiere. It offers the ability to make tape a workflow medium and enables massive savings in cost and complexity.
