Playpractice Theatre is set to kick off it's first New Play Series!
Playwrights play a vital role in the steam engine of live theatre. As a company, giving writers an open and solid platform to produce work is essential.
AIN'T THAT AMERICA by John Brahan and Dan Schultz
"Bonding through their shared experiences as jilted, white men living with their single mothers in Southern Baptist homes, Pat and Red develop a fast friendship. Both feel stuck in their hometown’s community college and avidly search for ways to make a mark in the world. However, Red desires to “wake America up” through violence and destruction. Pat must decide whether to stop his only friend or follow him to infamy. This two-man show explores the commonalities of mainstream, Conservative rhetoric and right-wing Populist jargon. Through Pat’s character, the play focuses on how a young man’s worldview teeters between “Conservative” values and extremist terrorism. How far is too far in order to make the change that you wish to see in the world?"
Don't miss this explosive new play by two Los Angeles based playwrights.
