The Montgomery County Maternal and Early Childhood Consortium (MECC) is supporting the county’s development of a multidisciplinary protocol for “Plans of Safe Care”, to provide for the safety and well-being of infants affected by substance use. Plans of Safe Care are interdisciplinary, family-focused and grounded in evidence-informed practices, such as a preference that infants, mothers and families remain together whenever possible.
