Pillowfort: nowadaysnj.bandcamp.com
Pillowfort is an energetic indie rock band based in Washington, DC. The band, originally called Nowadays, was formed in 2015 between four high schoolers in a small town on the Jersey Shore. While the sound, size, location, approach, and name have changed over four years, Pillowfort has always been focused on delivering memorable live performances that prioritize fun and audience experience above everything else. Behind the performances are meticulously crafted songs that lean on angular post-punk riffs and catchy melodies.
Pillowfort includes founding members Rob Cline (vocals/guitar), Jackie Hesley (bass), and Danny Williams (drums), as well as Beth Cassidy (guitar), Caroline Corbett (keyboard), and Kayla Hewitt (trumpet/vocals). With the expanded line-up the band has branched out into new sounds including dance-pop and new wave, while still retaining their indie punk roots. They released their first LP “Listening & Relaxation” (as Nowadays) in 2018.
