“The unexpected challenges our nation faces today, and the unparalleled dedication by our front-line workers cannot go unnoticed as we remember our fallen soldiers this Memorial Day,” said Christine Ondesko, general manager of Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park. “We hope that our military families who lost loved ones in the conflicts through the years find peace in knowing that their sacrifices will never be forgotten. And, we pray for all those on the front lines today.”
The Virtual Memorial Day Ceremony event - 30 minutes to celebrate 30 years - will feature live music, a flyover, and comments from community leaders. The live-streamed event will take place in front of the Veterans Memorial and Eternal Flame at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks, and in the comfort of guests’ homes. Community participants include Lt. Colonel Gary Dickey, Deputy Chaplain-CA Wing of the Civil Air Patrol playing Amazing Grace on the bagpipes; Christine Ondesko, General Manager, Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks-Griffin Memorial Park; Colonel Jerry Knotts, USAF (Ret), Commander, Conejo Valley Chapter MOWW; Billy Parish, vocalist, and Everett Kelly, bugler.
During the event participants will observe the National Moment Of Silence and experience a flyover by the Commemorative Air Force - SoCal Wing, Mike Hohls, Operations Officer.
