Spend a weekend making. Surrender to the creative process.
VAWAA's are a chance to immerse in a craft and lose yourself to the creative flow at your own pace. You'll work one on one with VAWAA master artist, Liz, with exclusive access to her studio.
Learn photo etching and silkscreen printing from a renowned Boston teacher in her bustling, collaborative studio. Incorporating storytelling and subconscious imagery, Liz's work is fantastical and distinct. Make your own individual patterns, designs, and prints to bring home.
Liz is a printmaker, sculptor, painter and a teacher. She is best known for her traditional etchings on copper plates, photo plate etchings, and silkscreen prints that are often printed on non-traditional materials, including wood, metal, and cardboard. Her imagery springs from the unconscious mind and brings to mind ideas about the earthly and the divine. Located in Boston’s bustling Back Bay, Liz’s studio has 3 etching presses, litho press and a complete silkscreen shop. It is a collaborative, lively space where several professional printmakers work together, and she describes the atmosphere as one of exchange and support.
