Description Beg Level: For anyone learning to play for the first time. USPTA certified classes designed to teach and reinforce the most modern tennis techniques while developing movement, agility and strength along with overall playing experience and knowledge of the game. Through playing drills and games designed to progress their skills, students will develop a strong fundamental base for the game they can use for a lifetime. Please bring a tennis racket and a new can of balls. ISPE (Independent Study for Physical Education) is available through these classes. For information please email the Community Classes Office at communityclasses@smgov.net. 220 minutes per week (approximately 4 hours) is required by the SMUSD to be eligible. PRIORITY ONLINE REGISTRATION (for Santa Monica Residents only) runs July 31 (6 am) through August 6. Non-resident registration opens August 7. REFUNDS/TRANSFERS - A $15.00 processing fee applies for each activity session refunded. Refunds will be prorated. Refund/transfer requests must be made in writing to the program supervisor in person or by fax (310-899-0840), mail, or email (communityclasses@smgov.net). Refunds will be issued only if requested within one day after the first class meeting. Material fees are not discountable and are nonrefundable. REFUNDS FOR DUPLICATE/MULTIPLE ENROLLMENTS resulting from multiple registration submissions (at one or more offices or via online registration) will be subject to a $15.00 processing fee for each activity session refunded. CANCELLED CLASSES will be made up at the end of the session. Makeups will not be offered for classes missed by the student. Programs are subject to cancellation if minimum enrollment is not met.
