The unquestionable pioneers of Afro-Peruvian Jazz music in the world are the Gabriel Alegria Afro-Peruvian Sextet.
This is a rare opportunity to attend a "Pop Up Brunch" Performance, which will take place in mid town Manhattan!
The theme is "28 de Julio" which is a sacred day in Peru! The band will uncover the secrets of Afro-Peruvian jazz music in an afternoon-long "peña" style performance.
If you don't know what that is... this is your chance to be immersed in the joys of the coastal criollo culture of Peru (hint: this does not involve llamas, pan flutes or mountains)
Peruvian food "with a jazz twist" will be served!
A bottle of Pisco will grace each table and you will learn how to make Chilcanos... the ideal summer drink for you to show off to your friends!
