Perseverance at Work
This course is for City of Baltimore employees only.
There's a great deal of complexity and uncertainty in our lives. Even when we plan strategically, apply our best talents, and strive to meet our goals – things do not always go according to plan. They may veer off course, encounter unexpected roadblocks, and toss in any number of obstacles. You can complain, lower your standards, take a back seat – or you can persevere and be steadfast in the face of adversity. Remember that the word persevere has its roots in Middle English, French, and Latin languages meaning 'very strict' or 'very serious.' In this path, you'll learn about what it takes to build and apply perseverance at work through courses that focus on goal-directed perseverance, trust and resilience, a balanced perspective, and accepting and dealing with setbacks.
