Student Showcase:
Sign up to share your recent work in community engagement and entrepreneurship. Each student will have an assigned table to display a poster board, photos, handouts, etc. to showcase their experience.
Examples of experiences can include:
- Undergraduate Research: program theses, capstone projects, independent research
- Professional Experiences: internships, co-ops, clinical and field experiences, client-based projects
- Study Abroad/Study Away
- Community-Based Learning: service learning, supervised field experiences, community development, tech transfer, immersive service experience, etc.
- Creative Accomplishments: public performance, community and creative arts programs, design consultations
- Courses with Out-of-Class Component: courses that require interaction with an external entity (ex. embedded travel courses, projects that interact with industry, government, community organizations, businesses, etc.)
- Organizational Experiences: active participation in a professional organization, student organization, or membership on a community board
- Peer Mentoring: resident assistants, orientation leadership, learning assistants, peer counseling, etc.
- Self-Directed Student Engagement: Entrepreneurship, startups, or activities that enable students to apply learning in special circumstances or acquire new skills (ex. leadership programs)
- Volunteerism: campus and/or community involvement opportunities, civic engagement, philanthropic service
Join the Penn State Center Pittsburgh at the Energy Innovation Center on Thursday, April 9 from 4:30-7:00 p.m. for our Second Regional Student Engagement Expo.
Penn State students from Beaver, Fayette, Greater Allegheny, and New Kensington campuses will share their engagement and entrepreneurial experiences with other students, faculty, and community organizations.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: FRIDAY, APRIL 3, 2020
The event will include:
- A keynote speaker from the Penn State and Pittsburgh community (to be announced)
- Select student presentations
- A showcase of all student experiences
- An opportunity to network and discuss student and community engagement
Who should attend:
- Penn State Students: sign up for a table to showcase your recent student experience or just attend to see what your fellow Penn Staters are up to
- Penn State Faculty: help celebrate students work outside of the classroom
- Community Partners: get a glimpse at the future workforce and community leaders
