We will be gathering together to learn about the fundamental principles and practices for engaging in Peacemaking Circle process. Peacemaking Circles (or Council) is a process grounded in indigenous practices, but is something that all our ancestors used in dealing with issues and conflicts in communities. Peacemaking Circles are rooted in the principles of Restorative Justice and has been used successfully in schools, communities and prison system to address harms in the community, work towards reconciliation, regain trust and help communities strengthen relationships. This will be an experiential training where we will be engaging in a Peacemaking Circle to learn the fundamental skills, theories and philosophy behind the Circle process.
