Have you always wanted to know how to create your own patterns that fit perfectly? You may not have a dress form to work on but you can easily work from just your measurements to draft patterns that fit!

In this Mood U 6-Week Pattern Making 101 Course you will learn will the fundamental rules of flat pattern making. Creating basic patterns for use as a starting block for creating any style you can dream of.

Students will be guided in the fundamental steps used to create basic patterns and the flat pattern drafting techniques required to manipulate shape, style and fit. At the completion of the 6-week course, students will have finished some basic paper patterns that can be used time and time again for future projects and Mood U intermediate/advanced pattern making classes or workshops.

Please note: The class will be taught following steps for drafting of primarily patterns for womens measurements, however we will talk about adapting the steps for some basic mens patterns also.

What is the age requirement for this class?

16+ for adult classes.

Can I bring my own supplies from home?

All required supplies are included in the Mood U Pattern Making Kit. You can purchase the full kit or just the individual items you may be missing. (see supplies list above)

Can I still sign up if I have to miss one of the classes?

Absolutely! The classes are structured to complete sections of the course week by week, however if you should miss a class the Mood U team will work with you to get back on track with your work and talk through in brief anything you may have missed. Comprehensive class notes are also provided.

Can I get a refund if I have to cancel?

Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Mood Fabrics has a no returns & no exchange policy on items purchased in store (eg: equipment kits, fabric and other supplies)

How do I know if this is the right level to start at?

This class is designed for anyone who is interested in knowing how to create their own pattern no matter how much, or how little experience you may have!

All of our classes at every level are very social and a lot of students continue to return to keep learning but also to enjoy the social aspect.

Can I switch classes?

Currently all levels of our specialised classes run once per week. We ask you to make sure the scheduled class time works with your weekly schedule. There are no make up classes available.
