Afterschool programs in Illinois are providing opportunities for youth in Illinois to engage in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in innovative ways.  Afterschool programs provide the flexibility and extra time that doesn't exist during the school day to allow students to explore STEM and find their passions.

We seek to make industry partners to help move the needle for Illinois Youth in STEM and create sustainable STEM programming for youth around Illinois.

Join us for a panel discussion and become a part of a movement to grow STEM learning experience for youth in the most under resourced communities in Illinois.  The panel will feature the following:

  • Trisha Prabhu, high school inventor of the Shark Tank featured anti-bullying app, ReThink
  • Tammera Holmes, founder of the aviation-focused AeroStar program
  • Brett Nicholas, Manager of Community Initiatives for the Museum of Science and Industry
  • Olga Gutierrez, Strategic Initiatives Manager at Apple

Light Refreshments will be served.

Contact Susan Stanton, ACT Now Network Lead, with questions or for more information: stantons@metrofamily.org, 312-877-0725.
