Course Description
Myofacial Isolation Upper Extremities is a comprehensive look at the muscles and movement of the arms and shoulders. The study of their functions, origin, insertion, and fiber runs. It is a unique blend of Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release and Isolation stretching. In the context of this course, Myofascial Isolation is performed with the intent of improving medical conditions or pathologies that have been prescribed by a physician. The course outline includes:
Upper Extremities Assessment
Postural Analysis
Range of Motion
Dermatomes
Muscle Review
Myofascial Isolation Stretching
Myofascial Isolation Upper Extremities Techniques
Myofascial Isolation is a technique designed to relieve pain and restrictions in the body. By applying pressure on the origin, insertion and trigger points of the specific muscle then stretching the muscle in the direction of the fiber runs (usually toward origin and insertion). This allows the release of the muscle fibers that create tendon and ligament attachments. The dermatomes in the body are also taken into consideration for awareness of pain patterns.
