UW-Eau Claire Hwa Rang Do/Tae Soo Do Club

The UWEC Hwa Rang Do / Tae Soo Do club is one of the longest running campus clubs. The main focus of our training is in personal excellence and growth. Hwa Rang Do can trace its martial tradition back 2000 years to the Silla Dynasty in Korea, while its structured martial art program has been around since 1960. Hwa Rang Do is a comprehensive traditional Korean martial art. Rather than limiting ourselves to only one area of focus, Hwa Rang Do allows the student to train in several areas of studies and skill sets. These include standard kick-punch fighting, joint manipulations, throws, various weapons training, an open handed sparring program that includes throws and takedowns, a ground fighting program, as well as a traditional weapon sparring program.
