Texas Children's Health Plan provides our members with dependable health coverage they deserve through CHIP, STAR Medicaid, and STAR Kids. Our mission at Texas Children’s Health Plan is to create a healthier future for children and pregnant women throughout the communities we serve by providing dependable healthcare and education to our members. The health plan was founded in 1996 by Texas Children's Hospital. We are the nation's first health maintenance organization (HMO) created just for children. We cover kids, teens, pregnant women, and adults. If you are able to receive Medicaid, CHIP, or STAR Kids coverage, we have a large group of more than 4,300 physicians, 7,811 specialists, 110 hospitals, and many other health resources to help with your health care needs.
