Bob Morris is a Horticulture Consultant now retired from the University of Nevada in 2011 as a Horticulture Specialist. He focused on landscape and turfgrass in earlier years and eventually food crops beginning in 1994. He attended the University of Wisconsin, Colorada State University and the University of Minnesota before being employed by Utah State University as a Horticulture Specialist in Salt Lake City, Utah. He then accepted the position as Horticulture Specialist for the University of Nevada in Las Vegas in 1984 in commercial horticulture. Bob spearheaded the University Orchard in North Las Vegas growing a wide range of fruits, vegetables and herbs and pioneered the marketing of locally grown food by small-scale producers in the Las Vegas Valley. He is the co-author of two books on plant water use and irrigation published by the University of California, authored over 35 research articles, over 1,000 trade journal articles, a regular columnist with the Las Vegas Review Journal newspaper, Consulting Editor for HortScience since 2000 and a member of the International Society for Horticultural Science. He and his wife have a VoTech farm in Batangas, Philippines, called MoCa Family Farm/RLearning Center focusing on agritourism, and teaches farmers agricultural and horticultural production.
