Free MHFA Training in Philadelphia
Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to help someone experiencing a health problem like a panic attack, depression, suicidal or self-harming thoughts or behavior, drug/alcohol overdose or withdrawal, dealing with trauma. MHFA teaches the skills needed to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of behavioral health challenges or crises. First Aid is administered until appropriate treatment and support are received or until the crisis is resolved.
For free certification in Mental Health First Aid, you must complete an eight hour course that teaches you some of the signs of behavioral health challenges and what you can do to help.
You can reach the Philadelphia MHFA team at mhfa_philly@pmhcc.org or 215.685.3755 for more information, or you can visit the www.healthymindsphilly.org website.
