Our comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs maximize patient health, function, and quality of life. Penn State Health Rehabilitation Hospital treats adult and pediatric patients who have had a stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, a neurological disorder, amputation, orthopedic injury or are in need of general rehabilitation. We also offer outpatient therapy, including a Comprehensive Day Program for those who may require continued rehabilitation after discharge. 76 private inpatient acute rehabilitation beds, including a secure 12 bed Brain Injury unit and a secure 10 bed pediatric unit. 22 private Transitional Care beds. Our specialized programs are designed to restore strength, improve physical and cognitive function, and promote independence in daily living activities. Our hospital is ranked in the top 3 percent of rehabilitation hospitals surveyed by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), an independent, nonprofit health care accreditation organization. Additionally, we have received a 5-star rating for our Transitional Care/Skilled Nursing unit. We also have an on-site Center for Wound Care.
