Ouachita Council on Aging, Inc.

Ouachita Council on Aging is the Area Agency on Aging for Ouachita Parish, Louisiana, serving seniors age 60+, since 1967. The Ouachita Council on Aging/Area Agency on Aging receives federal and state funding under the Older Americans Act to administer some twenty-two programs for the elderly parishwide. Other sources of funding are United Way of Northeast Louisiana, contributions from program participants, and donations from concerned individuals and groups in our community. As the Area Agency on Aging for Ouachita Parish, OCA is mandated by the Louisiana Governor's Office of Elderly Affairs to administer activities for seniors, age 60 and over. OCA is an advocate for senior citizens and operates Carolyn Rose Strauss Senior Center and 11 other satellite dining/activity sites in the parish, as well as contracting with West Ouachita Senior Center in West Monroe and SCORE (Senior Citizens OutReach Entity) located in Richwood, LA.
