IOOF Capital Lodge #6 Frankfort, KY Meeting 1st Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Since 1840 the Capital Lodge of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows has strived to improve and elevate the character of man kind through friendship, love of community, and the pursuit of truth. For over 175 years our members have contributed to making community a better place to live. IOOF was established in 1819 by five charter members in Baltimore, Maryland with the Kentucky chapter following in 1835. The Capital Lodge was established as the 6th lodge in the state, one of over 400 eventual fraternities. Guided by the IOOF creed to educate the orphan, visit the sick, relieve the distressed and bury the dead, membership was a form of social welfare and still remain a driving force in our efforts. Today the Capital Lodge is the 3rd oldest enduring chapter in Kentucky, with a newly revitalized membership who continue an important legacy in the Capital City as a social and civic club. Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month at our lodge located at 113 Bridge Street. We welcome you to join us and learn about our efforts to build wholesome and full lives.
