Mountaineer Area Rescue Group

The Mountaineer Area Rescue Group (MARG) is a volunteer search and rescue organization dedicated to saving lives in the outdoors. The Mountaineer Area Rescue Group (MARG) meets on the third Monday of every month at 6:30pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. Location: American Red Cross Building White Birch Towers, 1299 Pineview Drive Suite 300. Morgantown, WV 26505 If you are a new member we have a New Member Orientation that starts at 6:00PM the night of the monthly meetings. Everyone is welcome to attend this orientation. Training exercises are usually on the Saturday following the business meeting. The Mountaineer Area Rescue Group functions under the authority of the agency responsible for search and rescue (e.g. State Police, County Sheriff, Fire Department, Civil Air Patrol Mission Coordinator, Local Emergency Services Coordinator, Park Superintendent, etc.) MARG (and ASRC) will only conduct operations at the request of such agencies, and will directly support the responsible agency.
