Momentum Dance Ensemble

Momentum Music & Dance Academy is dedicated to increasing access to performing arts in the Burien-Seattle area. http://www.momentumdanceacademy.org MMDA’s Programs • EDUCATION: We offer professional instruction in Dance, Music, Theater, and a day-time Home School program. We also provide after-school enrichment. • COMMUNITY OUTREACH: MMDA offers classes via the Burien and Tukwila Parks & Rec programs. We also work with local preschools and reach out to our senior community by offering performances at local area senior living residences. We offer public performances several times per year in Burien, Renton, Des Moines, and Seattle. • ARTS ACCESS SCHOLARSHIPS: MMDA grants full and partial scholarships to individuals who need tuition assistance. In the 2012-2013 academic year, we provided over $20,000 in scholarships. • YOUTH MENTOR & LEADERSHIP: This is a new program that we are offering to our teen students to give them the opportunity to learn leadership skills and behind-the-scenes management of arts programs. MMDA's Goals and Objectives: It is our goal to cultivate life-long advocates of the arts by providing: • High-quality music and dance instruction • Exceptional, diverse and family-friendly programming • Means to reduce barriers to involvement in the arts (to make the arts accessible to individuals of all socio/economic backgrounds) • Outreach to inspire and enrich our local communities
