From him all the kindness and all the truth of God have come down to us.” John 1:12 Our Purpose The purpose of our church is to progressively become “An authentic model of Christ-like community that experiences, demonstrates and shares the love of God.” Kingwood Christian Fellowship Church Jesus’ Great Commandment and Great Commission are the foundation for all we are and do. The Great Commandment: “Jesus said: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart …. soul …. and mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV) The Great Commission: “Jesus said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you’ ….” Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV) To “Love God with all your heart” is worship. To “Love your neighbor as yourself” is ministry. To “Go and make disciples” is evangelism. To “Baptize ….” is to assimilate into fellowship. To “Teach them to obey everything” is discipleship
