Isaiah 58 Project spreading the love of Jesus to families in Blount County and beyond Food Distribution>Disaster Relief and much much more In 2010, pastor Ronnie Hepperly declared war against hunger in Blount County. He said: "It should be a crime for any child to go to bed hungry".  In the past 3 years, the Isaiah 58 ministry has distributed close to a million pounds of food in our community. We have served over 20,000 families through our pantry, truck distributions and deliveries, and there is no sign of this need slowing down. We have partnered with a number of local churches and are always looking for ways to better serve our community. What we do. This is a tatse of our 5 top Projects. We need you! #1 Pantry The Isaiah 58 Pantry, located 370 S Long Hollow Rd. Maryville TN, provides families with emergency food for 3 to 4 days. The Food is available at RIO Central church's office which is open mon-fri 9am-5pm. #2 Boxing Food One of the primary volunteering oportunities for the Isaiah 58 Project is to perpare food boxes for distribution. This involves unloading the truck and setting up the food line 3 to 4 times a month usually on friday mornings(10am-12pm). On friday nights 6 pm at the RIO Central Gym, approx 50 volunteers are needed to build the boxes and load them in the delivery trucks. #3 Food Distribution Once a month we have a team of volunteers that deliver food boxes to widows, shut-ins and to local housing projects. We also set up distribution lines 1 to 3 times a month at area schools, bussineses or churches so that we can reach the maximum number of people in our community. #4 Disaster Response We have a team of volunteers that responds to disasters both locally and a national level. We have join forces with Operation Compassion and God's Pit Crew to provide inmediate humanitarian support as well as long term recovery. #5 BackPack Program Isaiah 58 currently is a distribution location for 10 local schools reciving food from Second Harvest back pack program. This program provides food to send home with the children every friday throughout the school year. Many of these children would have nothing to eat. We need volunteers every 6 to 8 weeks to help package and distribute the food to the schools.
