Food trucks are intricately woven into American history.  Starting with the chuckwagon or food truck, which stems from the "father of the Texas Panhandle," Charles Goodnight. In 1866, Goodnight, a cattle herder, realized how difficult it was to cook proper meals during cattle drives. With that, he took a sturdy old United States Army wagon and constructed interior shelving and drawers. He then stocked the wagon with tableware and utensils, spices and medical supplies, including castor oil and quinine.  And with that the American Food Truck was born.    Now, today's food trucks are eons away from the original chuckwagon's but one thing still remains.  We Chicagoan's still love them!  With that in mind, we realized the joy people receive each day from eating from their favorite food trucks throughout Chicago. This lead us to create Chicago Food Truck Fest in continuing not only a Chicago tradition but and American tradition!    Working to bring Chicagoans together over food, Alec B.
