Camp Randall Rowing Club
617 North Shore Drive, Madison, 53703, WI, United States
Camp Randall Rowing Club is the premiere junior rowing program in the Madison area. We promote lifelong healthy activities through the sport of rowing. Camp Randall Rowing, Inc., has grown from a loosely and informally organized club, formed in 1995 to allow University of Wisconsin alumni to row under a club name, into a community-wide volunteer organization. Camp Randall’s primary purpose is to foster national and international rowing by supporting and developing amateur athletes for national and international competition in the sport of rowing throughout the Dane County community. The overall purpose of Camp Randall’s programs is to encourage, develop, instruct and train young men and women in the sport of competitive rowing; to encourage and develop amateur competition in the sport of rowing; to encourage lifelong health and wellness; to solicit scholarships to support Junior rowers, middle and high school Learn to Row participants and WeCanRow participants who otherwise would never have an opportunity to participate in the sport, and finally, to promote understanding and appreciation of the sport of rowing. To accomplish these goals, Camp Randall Rowing Club offers High School and Middle School Learn to Row and Junior Competitive Rowing programs; organizes and offers a WeCanRow program which provides wellness and recovery opportunities through rowing for breast and other female cancer survivors; and offers rack rental space for rowing shells and oars. The Club has partnered with the City of Madison to renovate the historic Brittingham Boathouse and continues to solicit community support for the sport of rowing.
