I offer individual artistis venues based on event or request. Classes include drawing ,painting,ceramics and mixed media. My name is Carolyn Baker. I am a retired Greencastle-Antrim High School Art Teacher with 28 years of service. I currently teach ceramic art classes for NCCS Studio at the Penn State Mont Alto Campus. I graduated from Waynesboro Area High School and Shepherd University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in secondary education. I also attended classes at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Shippensburg University, and the Governors School of the Arts. I supported the Greencastle Community throughout my teaching career by offering outreach events which expanded the realms of the Greencastle School District. These included after school art club, First Friday, Heritage Christmas, and Tayamentasachta Apple Festival. I also organized the Farmland Preservation Art Show, which brought an educational awareness to students and the community about the importance of reserving farmland fro future generations. My awards include the Greencastle-Antrim District Excellent Service for Education, multiple nominations for the Who's Who Among American Teachers and Outstanding Educator for Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. I was also honored for my work with the Franklin County Planning Commission. I have a strong passion and commitment for teaching and sharing with others.
