Amplify Life is dedicated to providing recreational, therapeutic, and educational programs for children, teens, and adults with developmental disabilities. Our programs range in cost from $20 to $700, depending on the duration and type of program. What We Do We host recreational programs for people with special needs. Our programs allow participants to experience the adventure of camp and the great outdoors while working towards specific developmental achievements. Programming melds a progressive curriculum with an exciting recreational environment to inspire participants to increase their independence, develop meaningful relationships, improve their physical health, and expand their quality of life. Camp Lotsafun features all of the activities one would expect from a traditional camp such as: swimming, archery, sports, nature hikes, campfires, and arts & crafts. We also incorporate activities to improve physical health, develop social skills, and build confidence, through music, dance, drama, pet therapy, team building, and challenge courses. While each of these activities is inherently fun, there are specific educational benefits woven into everything we do. Camp sessions vary by season, lasting three days to one week in duration. Day Tripper one-day or over-night mini-programs are purposefully designed to create one-of-a-kind social and educational opportunities for our campers, and allow families to grab frequent breaks between seasonal camps. Who We Serve Our programs benefit any child, teen, or adult with an intellectual, developmental, learning, communication, and/or emotional disability. Diagnoses may include but are not limited to: Asperger’s syndrome, autism, down syndrome, attention deficit/hyperactivity, processing disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, and various intellectual disabilities. Participants are 7 years old to 70+ years young. Fun and adventure is a rite-of-passage, and for this reason, we never age people out of our programs. Families and caregivers benefit through valuable respite. Short term, temporary care provided to individuals with disabilities can help prevent abuse and neglect, while supporting the family. Our programs allow families and caregivers to take a break from the daily routine of care giving, to focus on their own emotional and physical welfare.
