Am Yisrael Chai! is a non profit Holocaust Education and Awareness Organization that focuses on the Spirit of Survival. Vision Statement The Vision of Am Yisrael Chai is to focus on Holocaust Education and its relevance in the face of those suffering genocide and other humanitarian crises in the world today. "How can a person, whether religious or secular, not be moved by compassion? And above all, how can anyone who remembers remain silent?" - Elie Wiesel Mission Statement Am Yisrael Chai is a nonprofit Holocaust Education and Awareness organization that focuses on the spirit of survival and success. Am Yisrael Chai is committed to Holocaust Education and learning through action for today's world and for future generations. Thus, we remember the past and reach for the future. To achieve this vision, we have initiated various projects including: An annual Holocaust Remembrance event The Daffodil Project that aspires to build a worldwide "Living Holocaust Memorial" by planting 1.5 million daffodils in memory of the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust The Daffodil Dash, The Race for 1.5 million, that raises awareness and funds for Holocaust Education and for those suffering genocide and other humanitarian crises in the world today. Each year we host a Holocaust Remembrance Event that brings unique and interesting speakers to the greater Atlanta community. Am Yisrael has developed The Daffodil Project that aspires to build a Living Holocaust Memorial by planting 1.5 million daffodils around the world in memory of the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust and in support of children suffering in Humanitarian crises in the world today. Our initial Holocaust Remembrance event in 2008 focused on Jews and Jewish communities of Eastern Europe and was followed in 2009 with a focus on Jews of the Sephardic Diaspora who were caught up in the Holocaust – most notably in Greece, Turkey and Iraq. Themes for the following years included: 2010: Jewish Communities of Latin America after the Holocaust 2011: Resistance and Resilience in the Holocaust 2012: Rescuers of the Holocaust 2013: Children of the Holocaust 2014: Survival of the Spirit: Art, Music and Culture of the Holocuast 2015: Justice and Response: Lessons from the Holocaust Attendance at our events has grown to 550. The events are free and open to the public. Donations and Sponsorships support the Worldwide Daffodil Project.
