Overview of Schema-Focused Therapy
Julia Parker, LCSW-R, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing for over fourteen years, and specializes in PTSD/complex trauma, dissociation, addiction, anxiety and has extensive experience in working with veterans and military related traumas, adult survivors of childhood neglect, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, as well as survivors of domestic violence.
Schema-Focused Therapy is a valuable intervention when treating clients that present with enduring and self-defeating patterns. These patterns often include negative pervasive thoughts, intense feelings and repeated problematic/harmful behaviors that result in outcomes that perpetuate needs being unmet and that also create barriers to the achievement of goals.
This overview of Schema-Focused Therapy will assist participants to better understand and conceptualize clients on their caseload. In doing so, participants will be able to adjust approaches with these clients to improve treatment outcomes, enhance the work, and shift the overall framework of their interventions.
Tree of Hope Counseling, LCSW, PLLC, SE CPE, is sponsoring this training and is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW0322.
