Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community’s ORIGIN youth group presents,
“CROSSING THE RIVER”: an art exhibit and community building platform at the Chinese American Museum of Chicago.
This exhibition explores immigration, family, and cultural heritage in attempts to build intergenerational community.
It will be held during normal museum hours, from 9:30AM to 2:00PM.
There will special programming during specific days of this event that will require RSVP:
Monday 5/28, 10AM-4PM: Intergenerational performances, conversation, and games
10-11 AM Intergenerational performances by Whitney Young's Asian American Club, Pine Tree Senior Council and Yinhe Dance Center
11 AM-12PM Lunch and conversation
12 PM-2PM Games and activities: Mahjong, chinese chess, paper cutting, and more.
Friday 6/1, 5PM- 7PM: Special movie screening and discussion: "Pushing Hands".
5PM-6:45PM: Movie screening
6:45-7:30: Dinner and discussion
Saturday 6/2, 10 AM- 4PM: Closing reception with transmedia games and artist talk
10AM-12PM: Transmedia games
2-4PM: Chinese American Museum of Chicago and ORIGIN present: Panel discussion on Asian american identity and art with Mark Yee and Ada Cheng
