Learn the basics of caring for orchids. This program is designed for those who are new to orchids and who would like to learn more about this amazing plant. Join the orchid specialist of Duke Farms as he shares information about the exciting world of orchids and teaches the basics of orchid care.
Participants will get an introductory tour of the Orchid Range. There will be the chance to see many of the 1,500 orchid varieties grown here. Participants will learn, hands-on, how to repot an orchid that they will take home and nurture with newfound expertise.
This program is offered monthly throughout the year. Space is limited, and advance registration is required. Please bring a small snack to eat during break if needed.
Please arrive at the Orientation Center at least 20 minutes early because the van leaves for the Orchid Range promptly at 9:00am. Dress in layers; the greenhouses are warm. Dress apropos to repotting orchids.
