Here’s some more general information about the Open Newsroom.
THE CITY, a new, independent, nonprofit newsroom dedicated to hard-hitting reporting that serves the people of New York, is launching a year-long project with Brooklyn Public Library called The Open Newsroom. The two organizations will convene at least 24 neighborhood meetings at six library branches over the next year to better understand how information finds its way to and through a community and to explore how to make local news more collaborative.
You’ll also learn more about the kinds of local reporting THE CITY is doing — and, more importantly, THE CITY will get to know you and better understand what’s important to you and your neighbors.
Reporters from THE CITY, library staff and community leaders will always be on hand.
