Office of Management and Business Uniform Guidance Training

OMB Uniform Grant Guidelines do receive occasional updates. Service Provider fiscal staff are required to maintain familiarity with all updates. Any SP Fiscal Staff who works on the Weatherization Assistance Program is required to be trained on any updates within one year of the updates having taken effect.  Minnesota Weatherization Policy 6.9.2.1 reads:

"Fiscal Staff training: Any Fiscal staff who works on the Weatherization program must attend initial training on OMB Guidelines within one year of working with the Weatherization program. In addition, staff must take refresher courses within one year of changes to the OMB Guidelines.”  

Commerce has organized this training to assist SP Fiscal staff in meeting the requirement outlined in 6.9.2.1.  This training is not required if staff has received timely training via another source, but anyone who has not yet been trained should attend this session.

WAP program staff who work with budgeting and procurement of contracted services are also encouraged to attend this training. Training topics will include federal funding requirements surrounding cost principles & allocation, allowable costs, procurement, audit requirements and financial management.

Trainer Kevin Myren is the CFO of Common Bond Communities and a Minnesota-based Uniform Grant Guidance trainer. His expertise is in federal UGG laws and regulations with a specific focus on applicability of these items to Community Action Agencies and other federally-funded non-profit organizations. 

This facility will hold up to 40 attendees.  Please initially limit the number of attendees sent from your SP to three.  Additional attendee requests will be considered by Commerce as the date of training approaches. 

Coffee and light refreshments will be served and doors will open at 8:30.
