Nordic Book Club: "Professor Andersen's Night" by Dag Solstad

Read and discuss Scandinavian literature in translation as part of our Nordic Book Club. Each month we select a novel from some of the best Nordic literary voices. Discussions typically take place the last Tuesday of the month at Scandinavia House and online in our Goodreads group during the last week of the month. This week we're reading Professor Andersen's Night by Dag Solstad.

In this existential murder mystery, 55-year-old professor Pål Andersen is alone one Christmas Eve in his living room, drinking cognac, when he witnesses a man strangling a woman in an apartment across the street. Rather than reporting the crime, he becomes paralyzed by his indecision, setting off an unsettling reexamination of his own derailed life.
