Indulge your love of superb music-making this Valentine’s Day as violinist Nicola Benedetti returns to Cal Performances, this time
accompanied by the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Britain's brilliant periodinstrument ensemble, for a concert of works by one of the most beloved of all composers. Sought-after for her artistry, presence, and high-profile advocacy of classical music, Benedetti was recently honored with the The Queen's Medal for Music for contributions to the musical life of Great Britain, the youngest person ever to receive the award. The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment is Southbank Centre’s resident orchestra and the associate orchestra at at Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and has worked with such luminaries as Sir Simon Rattle, Iván Fischer, Sir Roger Norrington, and William Christie.
