The International Business Conference will be held in Alumni Hall on the Main Campus of Northeastern Illinois University on March 7 and 8.

The focus of this year’s conference is Europe and the European Union. Free and open to the public, the conference is organized and run by students from Northeastern’s College of Business and Management.

Alumna and Global Chief Information Officer at Smithfield Foods Julia Anderson (B.S. Information Science) will present “Recipe for Success” on Monday, March 7, at 6 p.m. Her talk also will serve as the third installment of the NEIU Alumni: All Access series, which demonstrates the lifelong value of a Northeastern Illinois University degree from the perspective of some of the University’s most successful and inspirational alumni.

Pawel Pietrasienski, Minister Counselor in the Trade and Investment Section of the Polish Embassy in Washington, D.C., will deliver the keynote speech on Tuesday, March 8, at 10:50 a.m.

TONIGHT! Next two session---- The Offices of Alumni Relations, Cultural Events and Public Relations, in collaboration with the annual International Business Conference, will host the third speaker in the NEIU Alumni: All Access series tonight! The NEIU Alumni: All Access series is designed to demonstrate the lifelong value of a Northeastern Illinois University degree from the perspective of some of the University’s most successful and inspirational alumni. Julia Anderson (B.S. ’85 Computer Science and Business Administration), the Global CIO of Smithfield Foods, will present and share her practical experiences as a leader in the consumer packaged goods industry at 6 p.m. in Alumni Hall. She will speak about current trends and technology, and keep a focus on U.S. and European trade. Anderson’s presentation will be followed by a panel discussion at 7:15 p.m. “Business, Technology, Careers and Europe: Can They Work Together?” will feature Anderson, College of Business and Management Dean Michael Bedell, Professor Emeritus of Economics Edward F. Stuart and Computer Science alumnus and Instructor Christopher Sulla. The event is sponsored by Smithfield Foods. Refreshments will be provided by the International Business Conference and Office of Alumni Relations.
