Navajo Pueblitos Tour with Friends of Aztec Ruins Partners
The Friends of Aztec Ruins is hosting a special tour of the nearby Navajo Pueblitos!
Don't miss out on the rare opportunity to tour Navajo Pueblitos of the Largo Canyon area on Saturday, March 16, led by archeologist Linda Wheelbarger. This group will spend the day driving out to visit several pueblitos, including Largo Schoolhouse, Hooded Fireplace, Tapacito and more. The trip includes Crow Canyon and the amazing Navajo rock art panels.
This is a day long trip and a moderate amount of hiking will be necessary. Bring hats, jackets, walking sticks, water, and lunch. The group will leave Aztec Ruins parking lot precisely at 9:00 am; as a driver, arrive with a full tank of gas. Vehicles will be shared to caravan out to the canyon. The scheduled return will be 5:00 pm.
The tour is sponsored by the Friends of Aztec Ruins National Monument as a fundraiser. All proceeds help the Friends who financially support the Monument with a variety of events and activities for the enjoyment of the community and park visitors. For more information and to sign on, please contact Linda Wheelbarger at 505.32.1834 or Aztec Ruins, 505.334.6174, ext 230.
